On the 15th March, we picked up Claudine, Kurt and Josa in Leah beach in Tabangao for their first visit to our place. Leah Beach is where the big Bancas leave to travel to Isla Verde and Mindoro. It takes about an hour and a half from Leah Beach, across the Verde Island Passage to Isla Verde Eco-friendly Resort.
While riding, in the banca, "St. Paul", Kurt started to have his beer. He enjoyed sight seeing on what has become known as 'the green island of Batangas',
Even though the beautiful green colour is not how it got its name 'Isla Verde' it suite this place.. Kurt took a shot of the resort from the boat, but has not sent us a picture yet..
On their first day after lunch, our guests took a boat tour of the island. Kurt enjoyed the waves splashing the boat and his face, while his fiancee, Claudine, was so scared. They also went to Ozone diving camp, and swam a lot.
When they returned to the resort, we had dinner and few cans of San Miguel light beer to finish a fun and relaxing day.
When the night came, we went to a birthday party in Gabihan. The local people welcomed our visiors.
Kurt was surprised to see a local boy, yum-yum playing the drums, because even though he's blind, he plays well. The celebrant offered us Red label, and good food. At 8pm, we left the party, need to rest for our next adventure for tomorrow.
The following day, Dieter, took Kurt for snorkeling in front of the resort. How he loves the underwater scenery. The school of fish, with bright colors. The beautiful corals we have. He said its 10 times more beautiful than Palawan.
Kurt enjoyed his visit so much, he promised to be back in May with his Kite Board.
THE CAFE had even more work in the last week. You can see the type of building that inspired some of the design ideas. Arches, columns, tall windows.
Everything on Isla Verde is done the old way, by hand and hard work. There is no fancy machinery, which makes the skill of the builders very impressive.
If this was being done overseas, or maybe even in a mainland city, there would be noisy equipment and trucks.
At Isla it is the skill of the workers.
The stone around the entrance has been finished with a wet look and it contrasts nicely with the cream paint chosen for the outside walls.
A combination of style of old and new that blends peacefully with the colours of the island.
what a wonderful place to be with my gf for sure i'm going there this summer of 2015
